Our topic for the Summer term is-
Why is the Stone Age important?

This term in English we will be studying the following books:
Stone Age Boy
The Day the Crayons Quit
Arthur and the Golden Rope
Through these books, we will develop our skills in the writing of letters, diary entries, narratives, recounts and leaflets.
Our class novel is “The Iron Man”

In maths, we will be securing our knowledge of place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. We will be measuring length, mass and volume and will learn about 3D shapes, types of lines and right angles. Continuing on from last term, we will be finding fractions of shape and number and will start to find equivalent fractions.

With the creation of cave paintings, stone age dwellings and jewellery, we will learn about the creative aspects of Stone Age life. Through history, we will discover Stone Age tales, how cave dwellers survived and the monuments that they have left behind. MFL features the creation of a Stone Age menu which will be turned into a picnic. Is it a healthy menu? We will find out in PSHE, where we will learn about healthy lifestyles, diets and personal hygiene. Furthermore, in PE, we will be keeping fit through athletics and rounders. We will be extending our thinking by comparing and contrasting Judaism and Christianity and will explore our own views and opinions. Science will see the study of light and magnetism, through a range of investigations and experiments.

Our topic for the Spring term was-
Can I go above and beyond?
